Mature ContentIt should not be a bad thing however..
Lately when I watch new entries i see only some stupid photos of "look how preety I am" taken straight from webs like nasza-klasa.pl or flickr. Complete randomness.. No sign of creativity, art and anything that dA is for.
And of course my favourite.. Photos of dicks.. jesus Christ is the NO BETTER place to show naked penises than dA?

And here goes mature content.
The theory is good. We check the box for do not show mature stuff in the options and viola.
Well guess what.. it does not work so well.
Half of the artworks here have mature content (and they are "real art" despite nudity) so
If I check that damn option I see.. well nothing.. >.<
There should be more types of mature content I think.
for example "hard nudity" or sth.
Or there could be another tab for photo's like "random".
i know dA is for art not for storaging family photos but those damn f*ckers don't get that
so maybe it would allow us not to watch what we don't want to.
Years ago I often used "New entries" to search for new artists, now it's a suicide to click it;/

I have run into so many people who are outright haters of anything having to do with using an animal for anything.
I do agree that using the pelt purely for taxidermy and not using the rest of the animal for anything is evil. But on the other hand, if I were an animal I would much rather have a life where I have food all the time and I don't have to worry about a bear or a car killing me.
I know not all fur farms are like this, but there are several states in the US that have passes laws regulating how the animals are to be treated and how they are to be killed. Sadly, groups like PETA keep showing the old movies on how the animals were treated.
Your right though, somethings you cannot help but look at, because it is there. But at least on DA you have a choice. If you see it in a thumbnail, and it appears to be a photo of a live animal, cool. That is what taxidermy is ment for- to make you think the animal is alive, or give the impression of it at least.
Nearly all of the meat I eat is localy farmed, or is farmed by myself. I raised sheep as a child, so I love to eat lamb. Yes, they were killed at a young age, but we didn't kill ever single one either. My beef comes from cows that I raised as well. Chicken I'm iffy on, noone around here raises it for food, but they do have local eggs at least.
Egg production lines scare me.

That's why i understand PETA also when they put to sleep so many animals.
Death by injection is not painful in comparison to spending your life unwanted and forgotten by people.

There was a PETA memeber in my area who decided she was going to kill some angora rabbits and spray paint them red, and leave a note saying "these rabbits are better off dead, than being killed for their fur." After finding out that angora rabbits are shaved for their fur, all she had to say was "oh, I'm sorry." These rabbits were kept in oversized cages, in a shed that was locked at night to keep predators out, and they even had a heater for the winter.
PETA also kills animals that come in with broken legs that can be fixed, they just do not want to spend the money on it. They target small childern with adds such as the "UN-Happy Meal" featureing a murderous Ronald McDonald and comes with a bloodly knife, and images of dead chickens. Its a chicken! The "Sea Kittens" campainge is disturbing in its own right. I love fish! If I could keep them, I would. But I also love to eat them. I do see where they are coming from, but the right to chose if you want to eat meat or not is your choice, not some orginizations right to demand you be a vegitarian. Look in our mouths, we have canies in our mouths for eating meat.
Just as a note: I have only done one soft mount, the furs are expensive XD
